		With the effect of gravitation and aging, the eyebrows and upper and lower eyelids may be flabby. Particularly the fatty tissue in the lower eyelids may shift forward and create flabbiness due to loosened structures holding the eyelid in its original location. As well as a poor aesthetic appearance, this condition may hinder vision since flabby upper eyelids may be blocking the eyes.

		By aesthetic eyelid operation, excess skin and herniated fatty tissue will be removed; thus, aesthetic looks and a healthy vision are attained. The Operation The operation is performed in the hospital surroundings under local anesthesia. Only the lower or upper lid or both can be operated. The operation lasts 1- 1.5 hours. The incisions are made on the folding curve of the upper lid and on the lower lid 1-2 mm below the lashes, and excess fat and skin are removed. After the operation, the eyes are not covered. Small gauze pads are placed over the sutures. After a few hours rest, the patient can go home. Postoperative period The incisional scars remain on the folds of the upper lid and are invisible. On the lower lid, the scars are right below the lashes and are unnoticeable in the shade of the lashes. The sutures are removed in 3-5 days. Slight edema and bruising around the eyes will resolve in a few days. The patient can go back to work in 3-5 days. The eyes should be protected from the sun for 3 months with the help of sun screening lotions. Click here for pictures
